Ingredients needed

- Beef gelatin from grass fed and finished beef. I love supporting regenerative farmers. Plus the healthy animals they raise for us to use are so rich in vitamins and minerals. If you are a meat eater, using every part of the animal possible is a must. If you prefer to stay away from animal products you could substitute the gelatin for collagen peptides.
- Seed or nut butter. Here I’ll be using peanut butter but you can use any seed or nut butter you love.
- Pure maple syrup. You could also use honey or agave.
- Cocoa powder or cacao powder
- Vanilla extract
- Sea salt – we love Redmond’s Real Salt. It’s seriously delicious and filled with essential minerals.
- Cinnamon
- Chia seeds
The last two ingredients are optional. I like to add a little something to crunch on, but if you prefer to go without the chia seeds you’ll still end up with delicious, fudgy chocolate collagen bites. We only use a small amount of cinnamon in this recipe, but again you can go without if you prefer.
How to make collagen bites
This recipe is so simple and takes only a few minutes to whip up.
First, get yourself a medium sized mixing bowl. Measure out all of your ingredients and add them to the bowl. Mix.

I like to add the gelatin last so that it doesn’t have the chance to clump up. Stir with a rubber spatula or a large kitchen spoon.
At this point the “dough” will resemble a thick brownie batter and is super fudgy. Seriously, it tastes so good like this you could just eat spoonful’s of it.

However, if you’d like to build in a little portion control, roll the dough out into small bite sized balls. About 20 grams each if you want to be real precise.
You could also freeze the whole thing in a rectangular mold, such as a parchment paper lined bread pan, cut into cubes and have collagen freezer fudge.
Mmmmmmm, sounds so good. 😁
Once you have the batter shaped how you like, store in the fridge and enjoy as desired.
You will love these chocolate collagen bites
Beef gelatin, especially that which comes from grass fed cows, is a great addition to your diet. It’s low in calories and high in protein and amino acids that help promote your bodies ability to produce collagen. This helps boost muscle growth and strong bones, keeps your joints, hair, skin and nails healthy. But it also helps heal your gut.
If you’ve been looking into wholistic health I’m sure you’ve run across the importance of gut health. From a proper functioning immune system to better mental stability, our gut needs daily loving.
These collagen bites are a natural and delicious way to give your body something it is craving.
If you’ve got little kids running around, this is a great way to fuel them in a way that actually supports their growth and development. Unlike the sugary, highly processed snacks so many American kids live on.
So, go ahead. Gives these a try and see how you like them! I’m sure your family will love them as much as mine does 😀

- 1 tbsp chia seeds, optional
- 1/8 tsp ground cinnamon, optional

- Portion the chocolate collagen bites into 1-2 tbsp sized balls. We find 20 grams to be the perfect size.
- Store in the fridge and enjoy as desired.
Notes
I like to add the gelatin after the rest of the ingredients have been measured and added to the mixing bowl. It prevents the gelatin from forming any clumps.
Use gelatin from grass fed and finished beef for maximum health benefits.
If you'd prefer these to be sweeter you can increase the maple syrup to 1/2 cup. It may benefit from chilling in the fridge or freezer for a few minutes to help it set before shaping.
You could also substitute the maple syrup with any other natural, liquid sweetener.
